We have started a new program, School Volunteer Program to supplement our popular Assistant Teacher Program, which has become increasingly difficult to run due to various changes in regulations.
Under our new program, a Japanese visitor can spend up to 3 months in your school community as a resource/volunteer person. Her/his chief goal in coming to Australia is to travel and improve her/his English rather than to assist and support your Japanese program.
We arrange private English lessons after school a few times a week. As a tourist visa holder, the visitor can observe the class and interact with the students but is not allowed to teach.

Following items are different from Assistant Teacher Program; board, 4 day work arrangement and orientation.
The volunteers contribute more to their host families, and work 5 days a week (but this is negotiable).
JAPEP doesn't provide them with 1 week orientation, as they are not expected to teach.
